Aluminium and Copper Theft from a Met-Ed Substation
A homeless man has been arrested in connection with aluminium and copper theft from a Met-Ed substation in Berks County.
The suspect was charged Tuesday with burglary, conspiracy, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property, theft of secondary metal, and criminal mischief.
He stole two spools of wire from the Met-Ed substation on South First Avenue in West Reading on the night of June 8, police said.
A witness who confronted the suspect and another man as they fled the area in a pickup truck provided police with their descriptions.
Police found the truck later the same night, and the driver, whose name has not been released, admitted to dropping off and picking up at the substation, according to court documents.
